Have you ever found yourself pondering the big, existential questions? Like, "What is my purpose?" or "How can I make a meaningful difference in this world?" If so, you're not alone. Each of us, at some point in our lives, tries to find our true calling. It's a path that can be both exhilarating and daunting. For me, this quest began with introspection. It involved peeling back the layers of societal expectations and personal doubts to uncover what truly makes my heart sing. I realized that purpose isn't just about a specific goal; it's about how we live our lives every day, the values we uphold, and the impact we have on others. When I started counseling, I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. Seeing people get into long-term recovery, and then seeing them months, or even years later, is exhilarating. If you’re in recovery, how do you re-figure out your purpose? Start by listening to your inner voice, to the stories of those around us, and to the needs of our community. Think about what interests you. What would you pursue if you knew you couldn’t fail? From there, it's about taking small, intentional steps towards what feels right, even if the path isn't always clear. Our purpose often lies at the intersection of our passions and the world's needs. It's about finding that unique contribution that only we can make. It's not a destination, but a continuous process of growth and understanding.

Best,
